Al Passo del Bocco prendiamo la strada provinciale in direzione di Varese Ligure.
Inizialmente la strada sale, poi scende decisamente. Quando raggiungiamo alcune
ville ed una cappelletta a sinistra della strada siamo a Colla Craiolo (km 5,8).
Qui passa l'AV, segnali. Lasciamo la provinciale e prendiamo a sinistra l'unica
stradina che sale, seguendo i segnali AV.
Il percorso è facile e presenta qualche salita alternata alle discese.
Arriviamo ad una stalla (km 7,8) superata la quale ci troviamo sull´asfalto. Seguiamo
la stradina per qualche centinaio di metri. Ad una curva, poco dopo un pilone
votivo, svoltiamo a sinistra sul sentiero dell'AV.
Andiamo in salita su un sentiero largo e non troppo ripido.
Lasciamo a destra un ripetitore. Pochi metri dopo (km 9,4) incontriamo una strada
che scende a destra. Seguendola è possibile scendere a Casareggio e a Scurtabò
interrompendo l´itinerario.
Andiamo diritti arrivando al Passo del Sericiotto. Segue una salita parzialmente
non ciclabile. Il saliscendi ci porta ad una selletta dove andiamo a sinistra
lasciando l'AV che taglia a destra, poi scendiamo al Passo della Revota (km 10,7).
Dopo una ripida salita proseguiamo più facilmente scendendo ad un grande
quadrivio (km 12,1; da destra variante 9.1). Andiamo diritti entrando in una larga
strada inghiaiata.
Guadagniamo quota con un tratto abbastanza sostenuto che ci porta ad un incrocio.
Trascuriamo la strada di destra per Varese e continuiamo a salire superando una
cappelletta ed uscendo al Passo Chiapparino (km 13,6) dove si trova una fontanella.
Proseguiamo in salita sulla destra e, poco dopo, lasciamo a sinistra l'AV che
sale al monte Ventarola.
Sul versante meridionale la strada sale con un chilometro impegnativo, poi proseguiamo
facilmente ritrovando l'AV ed arrivando ad incrociare una sterrata (km 15,8) che
seguiamo a destra.
Arriviamo ad un prato dove troviamo una strada asfaltata (km 17). Qui svoltiamo
a sinistra e scendiamo nel bosco. L´asfalto termina e passiamo sulla grande frana
(Libia di Pecorara) prima di arrivare alla strada asfaltata che sale da case Pecorara
(km 18,4).
Andiamo a sinistra su una strada quasi pianeggiante. Incontriamo un tratto asfaltato
che scende con un paio di tornanti e poi in leggera salita proseguiamo fino ad
incrociare la strada del Passo di Cento Croci (km 21,8) presso ristorante-albergo
Ranch Camillo.
Il passo è a sinistra, a circa 300 metri. Dislivello: 550 m. Ciclabilità: 99% Osservazioni: può essere percorso anche in senso contrario. Asfalto: 32% Variante 9.1: Possiamo raggiungere il crinale partendo
da Scurtabò (circa 8 km da Varese Ligure).
All´incrocio tra la provinciale e la strada che sale verso la chiesa prendiamo
questa strada e raggiungiamo la chiesa. A destra dell'edificio proseguiamo la
salita seguendo una stradina asfaltata. Evitando le laterali proseguiamo fino
a Casareggio (km 2) dove scolliniamo. In leggera discesa arriviamo ad una cascina
dove proseguiamo a sinistra fino la bivio con case Pietrebianche (km 3,6) dove
termina l´asfalto.
Al bivio andiamo a sinistra ed andiamo in salita fino a raggiungere l´itinerario
principale in corrispondenza del grande incrocio del km 12,1 (km 5).
Bocco Pass - Centocroci Pass cross
Updating: 5/2003 Description:
To the Pass of the Bocco we take the road provincial road in direction of Varese
Ligure. Initially the road climbs, decidedly goes down then. When we reach some
houses and a chapel to the left of the road we are at Craiolo Pass (km 5,8).
Here it passes the AV signals. We leave the provincial road and we take to the
left the only narrow road that climbs, following the signals AV.
The run is easy and presents some ascents alternated to the descents. We arrive
to a cowshed (km 7,8) which cross over we find the tarmac. We follow the narrow
road for some hundred meters. To a curve, shortly after a tabernacle, we turn
to the left on the path of the AV.
We ascend on a wide path and not too much steep.
We leave to the right an aerial. Few meters later (km 9,4) we meet a road that
goes down to the right. Following its is possible to go down to Casareggio and
Scurtabò interrupting the itinerary.
We go straight on reaching the Pass of the Sericiotto. It follows an ascent
partially not cycle. The up-and-down leads us to a little pass where we go to
the left leaving the AV that cuts to the right, then we go down to the Pass
of the Revota (km 10,7).
After a steep ascent we continue more easily going down to a great crossroads
(km 12,1; from right varying 9.1). We go straight on entering a wide graveled
road.
We gains height with a stretch enough sustained that leads us to an intersection.
We neglect the right road to Varese and we keep on climbing overcoming a chapel
and going out to the Pass Chiapparino (km 13,6) where a spring we found.
We continue in ascent on the right and we leave to the left, shortly after,
the AV, that climbs to the Ventarola mountain.
On the southern slope the road climbs with a binding kilometer, easily continues
then finding again the AV and arriving to cross a dirt road (km 15,8) that we
follow to the right.
We arrive to a lawn where we find a tarmac road (km 17). We turn to the left
here and we go down in the wood. The tarmac finishes and we passes on the great
landslide (Libia of Pecorara) before arriving to the tarmac road that climbs
from houses Pecorara (km 18,4).
We go to the left on an almost level road. We meet a tarmac stretch that goes
down with a pair of hairping curves and then in light ascent we continue as
far as to cross the road of the Pass of One Hundred Crosses (km 21,8) near restaurant-hotel
Ranch Camillo.
The pass is to the left, to around 300 meters. Gradient: 550 ms. On saddle: 99% Observations: it can also be crossed in contrary sense. Tarmac: 32% Varying 9.1: We can reach the ridge departing from
Scurtabò (around 8 kms from Varese Ligure).
At the intersection among the provincial road and the road that climbs toward
the church take this one and reache the church. To the right of the building
we continue the ascent following a narrow road. Avoiding the side ones we continue
up to Casareggio (km 2) where begin descent. In light descent we arrive to a
farmhouse where we continue to the left as far as the fork with houses Pietrebianche
(km 3,6) where the tarmac finishes.
To the fork we go to the left and we ascend up to reach the main itinerary in
correspondence of the great intersection of the km 12,1 (km 5).
