Aggiornamento: 11/2006 Partenza:Rocche Bianche è raggiungibile con l'itinerario 3, l'itinerario 7, l'itinerario 8 e con l'itinerario 4 del finalese. E' inoltre facilmente accessibile dalla strada che collega Colla del Termine e Colla di San Giacomo (vedi itinerario 6). Descrizione.
Dal monumento
scendiamo seguendo la strada carrozzabile asfaltata fino a raggiungere
l´incrocio dove l´asfalto va a sinistra per Segno (km 1,8). Scendiamo invece a
destra sull´ampia sterrata. Dopo circa 700 metri prestare attenzione a prendere
a sinistra una stradina forestale (segnavia FIE ).
Proseguiamo a mezzacosta con tratti in discesa arrivando ad un incrocio (km 3,1)
dove svoltiamo a destra lasciando la strada principale che scende.
Proseguiamo prima in salita poi in discesa ripida arrivando ad un incrocio (km
3,8) dove teniamo la sinistra, in piano (segnavia ;
a destra variante 25.2).
Incontriamo ancora un quadrivio dopo due chilometri dove andiamo in salita raggiungendo
il crinale. Seguiamo il crinale con i suoi saliscendi fino ad arrivare in cima
al Bric Colombino con le sue antenne (km 6,8).
Immediatamente prima della vetta scende a sinistra una sterrata. La seguiamo raggiungendo un incrocio dove lasciamo a sinistra il segnavia e continuiamo diritto scendendo ad una larga strada (km 7,4). Svoltiamo a sinistra, passiamo nei pressi di una casa e raggiungiamo
un ampio colle con tre strade (km 8). Qui arriva da destra l'itinerario
4 che sale da Spotorno.
Andiamo diritti su sterrato poi su una ripida rampa in cemento. Incontriamo un altro piccolo
valico con un incrocio dove andiamo a destra (a sinistra scende l'itinerario
12). La strada prosegue con una salita al cui termine (km 8,7) lasciamo a destra la vetta del monte Mao.
Continuiamo in discesa sovrastando una discarica
e una cava, costeggiamo un altro piazzale di cava a destra e scendiamo ad un valico
(km 10).
La strada asfaltata a sinistra scende a Vado Ligure.
Andiamo invece a destra in discesa sterrata. A sinistra lasciamo il cancello da
dove arriva l'itinerario 13 e passa la variante
25.3.
Lasciamo, ancora a sinistra, il sentiero segnalato per Bergeggi (variante 25.4) e, dopo pochi metri, dobbiamo svoltare nettamente a destra su una stradina (km 10,2). Su sentiero quasi pianeggiante ci dirigiamo verso il monte Mao. Proseguiamo in
falsopiano costeggiando la base del monte, usciamo dalla valletta e proseguiamo
con ampia vista sul mare.
Senza incontrare particolari difficoltà raggiungiamo un colletto (km 12,4) dove lo sterrato termina. Su strada asfalta, molto ripida, scendiamo a Spotorno
(km 13).
La stazione è a destra a circa 1 km. Dislivello: discesa 700 m. Ciclabilità: 100% Asfalto: 11% Osservazioni: esistono numerose variazioni possibili. Ritengo il
percorso indicato il più ciclabile. Al valico del km 11 prestare attenzione a
NON seguire l'invitante sterrata a destra in discesa; è cieca e con cane mordace!
Svoltare invece subito a destra. Variante 25.2:
svoltiamo a destra e la strada comincia subito a scendere. Superiamo un breve
tratto ripido uscendo su un largo stradone. Poche centinaia di metri ed usciamo
sull´asfalto (km 0,5). A destra andremmo a Vezzi, andando a sinistra invece incontriamo
i seguenti incroci:
discesa per Spotorno (km 2,4. Itinerario 4, variante
1 del finalese);
salita per bric Colombino (km 3,4);
discesa per Spotorno (km 4,1. Itinerario 4 del finalese).
Variante 25.3:
Percorso interessante, ma attraversa una proprietà privata molto difesa
da cartelli di divieto di accesso. Probabilmente il diritto di passaggio sul sentiero
non può essere interdetto, comunque è opportuno procedere con educazione.
Attraversiamo il cancello e seguiamo la stradina, lasciando quindi a sinistra
l´itinerario 13. Arriviamo ad una casa (km 0,3), attraversiamo il cortile e proseguiamo
sul sentiero.
Raggiungiamo un incrocio (km 0,5). Scendendo a destra e poi svoltando a sinistra
al bivio potremmo raggiungere la strada asfaltata in 300 metri. Andiamo invece
a sinistra, in salita.
La strada prosegue in leggera salita e raggiunge il grande piazzale dove incontriamo
l'itinerario 13 (km 1,1) che seguiamo al contrario. Raggiungiamo
quindi la polveriera e superiamo la difficile discesa arrivando sull´asfalto (km
1,9) dove svoltiamo a destra per Bergeggi. Variante 25.4.
Settembre 2008. Al bivio svoltiamo a sinistra seguendo il segnavia e le indicazioni per il sentiero botanico. Percorriamo una mulattiera in moderata discesa che con facile percorso ci porta ad una strada sterrata (km 0,7) nei pressi di alcune case.
Svoltiamo a sinistra ma lasciamo la strada dopo cinquanta metri per prendere la mulattiera a destra che continua la sua discesa.
Usciamo su un'altra mulattiera (km 1) e la seguiamo a destra per qualche metro. Svoltiamo a sinistra su buon sentiero pianeggiante. Ormai in vista dei casermoni di Torre del Mare seguiamo il sentiero che scende con qualche giro tra le proprietà recintate e termina sull'asfalto (km 1,4).
Descent from White Rocks to Spotorno
Updating: 1/2005 Start: White Rocks it is attainable with the itinerary 3, the itinerary 7, the itinerary 8. It's besides easily accessible from the road that links Colla of the Term and Colla of St. Giacomo (you see itinerary 6). Description.
From the monument we go down following the tarmac up to reach the cross where the asphalt goes to the left for Segno (km 2). We go down to the right instead on the ample dirt road. Later around 700 meters to pay attention to take to the left a narrow forest road (trail sign FIE ).
We continue hillside with stretches in descent arriving to an intersection (km 3) where we turn to the right leaving the main road that it goes down.
We continue first in ascent then in steep descent arriving to an intersection (km 4) where we hold the left, in plain (trail sign ; to the right varying 25.2).
We still meet a crossroads after two kilometers where we go to ascent reaching the ridge. We follow the ridge with its up-and-downs to arrive on top of the Bric Colombino with its aerials (km 5,3).
Immediately before the peak a dirt road goes down to the left. We follow it reaching an intersection where we leave to the left the trail sign and we continue straight on going down to a wide road (km 6). We turn to the left, we pass near a house and we reach an ample pass with three roads. Here it arrives from right the itinerary 4 that climbs from Spotorno.
We go straight climbing a steep ramp in concrete. We meet another small pass with an intersection where we go to the right (to the left the itinerary 12 goes down). The road continues in ascent and then in descent overhanging a dump and a quarry, skirt another quarry to the right and we go down to a pass (km 11).
The tarmac road to the left goes down to Vado Ligure.
We go to the right instead on descending dirt road. To the left we leave the gate from where the itinerary 13 arrives and passes the variation 25.3.
After few meters we have to turn to the right clearly on a narrow road. The level run directs its toward the Mao mountain becoming path. We continue almost level skirting the base of the mountain, we go out of the valley and we continue with ample sight on the sea.
Finally the bottom becomes cemented, then asphalted and we steeply go down to Spotorno (km 14).
To the left on the Aurelia for Vado and then Valleggia. Gradient: descent 600 ms. Cycle: 99% Tarmac: Observations: numerous possible variations exist. I hold the pointed out run the more cycle. To the pass of the km 11 to pay attention not to follow to the right the inviting dirt road in descent; is blind and with mordant dog! To turn instead suffered to the right. Varying 25.2:
we turn to the right and the road immediately starts to go down. We get over a brief steep stretch going out on a wide road. Few hundred meters and we go out on the main road (km 0,5). To the right we would go to Vezzi, going instead to the left we meet the followings intersections:
descent for Spotorno (km 2,4. Itinerario 4, variante
1 del finalese);
ascent for Bric Colombino (km 3,4);
descent for Spotorno (km 4,1. Itinerario 4 del finalese).
Varying 25.3:
Interesting run, but it crosses a private ownership very defense with poster of prohibition of access. Probably the right of passage on the path cannot be interdicted, however it is opportune to proceed with education.
We cross the gate and we follow the narrow road, leaving therefore to the left the itinerary 13. We arrive to an house (km 0,3), we cross the courtyard and we continue on the path.
We reach an intersection (km 0,5). Going down to the right and then turning to the left to the fork we could reach the tarmac road in 300 meters. We go to the left instead, in ascent.
The road continues in light ascent and it reaches the great square where we meet the itinerary 13 (km 1,1) that we follow contrarily. We reach therefore the powder magazine and we get over the difficult descent arriving on the asphalt (km 1,9) where we turn to the right for Bergeggi.
