Al Passo seguiamo a sinistra (per chi salga da Gorreto) il sentiero con segnavia e FIE . Il sentiero scende ed entra nel bosco. La discesa termina ad una selletta (km 0,6). Proseguiamo con numerosi saliscendi restando sempre sul crinale (attenzione ad un breve tratto sul ciglio di una parete verticale) e con percorso quasi interamente ciclabile.
Il sentiero inizia a salire e raggiungiamo la base (km 2) di una rampa ripidissima che affrontiamo faticosamente a piedi. Una breve discesa ci porta ad un bivio (km 2,4) ai piedi del monte Carmo.
Lasciamo il segnavia a destra e seguiamo a sinistra il segnavia FIE .
Il sentiero scende per attraversare un impluvio nel bosco. Scendiamo ancora ad una radura dove il sentiero si confonde. Proseguiamo in salita, ciclabile.
Una breve rampa ci porta su una sterrata (km 3,3) dove incontriamo l'itinerario 2 della Val Borbera.
Svoltiamo a sinistra e seguiamo la strada che scende ad incontrare l'asfalto in località Capanne di Carrega (km 4,2). Dislivello: 190 m in salita e 230 in discesa. Ciclabilità: 85%. Asfalto: -% Osservazioni: questo raccordo è percorribile anche in senso contrario.

At the Pass we follow to the left (for those climbs from Gorreto) the path with trail sign and FIE . The path goes down and enters the wood. The descent finishes to a saddleback (km 0,6). We continue with numerous up-and-down always staying on the ridge (attention to a short tract on the edge of a vertical wall) and with run almost entirely cycle.
The path begins to climb and we reaches the base (km 2) of a steep ramp that we face on foot laboriously. A brief descent leads us to a fork (km 2,4) to the feet of the Carmo mountain.
We leave to the right the trail sign and we follow to the left the trail sign FIE .
The path goes down for crossing an impluvium in the wood. We still go down to a clearing where the path confuses it. We continue in ascent, cycle.
A brief ramp there leads on a dirt road (km 3,3) where we meet the itinerary 2 of the Val Borbera.
We turn to the left and we follow the road that goes down to meet the asphalt in the place Huts of Carrega (agritourism; km 4,2). Gradient: 190 ms in ascent and 230 in descent. Cycle: 85%. Tarmac: -% Observations: the Maddalena Pass is attainable from Gorreto with the itinerary 14. This link is also practicable in contrary sense.
