Aggiornamento: 6/2007 Partenza: ponte sull'Orba, sulla strada tra Tiglieto e San Pietro presso il bivio per Olbicella. Descrizione.
Attraversiamo il ponte in direzione di Tiglieto e svoltiamo a destra nella prima
strada. Andiamo quasi in piano seguendo una stradina asfalta che costeggia alcune
villette (segnavia FIE e ).
La strada termina ed attraversiamo un ponticello a cui segue una breve salita
non ciclabile. Lungo il percorso incontriamo frecce bianche, possiamo seguirle
ma in caso di contrasto dobbiamo seguire i segnavia FIE.
Il sentiero costeggia in alto il letto del fiume, qui incassato in una spettacolare
gola. Svoltiamo a sinistra e seguiamo una valletta laterale salendo ad incrociare
una strada asfaltata (km 1,5).
Svoltiamo a sinistra e saliamo su asfalto per 150 metri, poi svoltiamo a destra.
Seguiamo un largo sentiero che scende ad attraversare un ponte.
Saliamo una ripida rampa raggiungendo una casa. Proseguiamo, con qualche saliscendi,
ed incontriamo di nuovo l´asfalto (km 2).
Svoltiamo a sinistra e, dopo pochi metri, scendiamo in un sentiero a destra. Il
sentiero porta su una mulattiera che scende ad attraversare un ruscello e poi
sale ad incontrare una sterrata (km 2,3).
Lasciamo a sinistra la strada verso il monte Dente e scendiamo a destra. La strada
scende ripida e la seguiamo per 300 metri.
Quando incontriamo un sentiero che va a sinistra lo prendiamo (la sterrata prosegue
e porta sul fiume in corrispondenza di un bel lago).
Il nostro sentiero costeggia il fiume e raggiunge un ponticello non troppo sicuro
(km 2,9).
Sulla riva opposta dobbiamo spingere per superare una rampa e proseguiamo sul
sentiero ora piuttosto stretto su pendio ripido. Arriviamo in vista di una cascina
e, prima di raggiungerla, dobbiamo stare attenti e svoltare a destra per entrare nel sentierino che
passa tra una recinzione e la riva del torrente (sbagliando ed andando diritti
raggiungeremmo la cascina e l´asfalto; è possibile qui andare a destra e riprendere
il sentiero giusto, ma dobbiamo affrontare un´oca guardiana).
Raggiungiamo ed attraversiamo il lungo e stretto ponte che attraversa l'Orba.
Sull'altra riva superiamo a piedi qualche metro e proseguiamo poi con facilità
fino ad una cascina (km 3,7).
Passiamo a monte della casa prendendo una larga sterrata. Ad un bivio (km 4,2)
andiamo a destra e proseguiamo fino all´incrocio con l´asfalto (km 4,5).
Svoltiamo a destra e scendiamo sull´asfalto fino alla curva dove prendiamo la
sterrata a sinistra (km 5).
La strada scende e la lasciamo poco prima di una cascina per andare a destra.
Passiamo un rio e proseguiamo a destra. Il sentiero si allarga gradatamente e
diviene una larga sterrata che scende con ampi tornanti.
Costeggiamo il parco della Badia e raggiungiamo la strada di accesso (km 6,2).
Svoltiamo a destra e seguiamo la strada che sale al ponte sull'Orba (km 6,6). Dislivello: 180 m Ciclabilità: 97%. Osservazioni: Asfalto: 18%
Abbey of Tiglieto Loop

We start from the Bridge on the Orba, at the fork between the road for Olbicella and that for S.Pietro.
We cross the bridge in direction of Tiglieto and we turn to the right in the first road. We go almost in plain following a narrow road that skirts some houses (trail sign FIE and ).
The road finishes and we cross a bridge to which follows a brief non cycle ascent. Along the run we meet white arrows, we can follow it but in case of contrast we have to follow the trail signs FIE.
The path skirts the riverbed, here enclosed in a spectacular gorge. We turn to the left and we follow a side valley climbing to cross a tarmac road (km 1,5).
We turn to the left and climb on asphalt for 150 meters, then we turn to the right. We follow a wide path that goes down to cross a bridge.
We climb a steep ramp reaching a house. We continue, with some up-and-downs, and we meet again the asphalt (km 2).
We turn to the left and, after few meters, we go down to the right in a path. The path leads on a mule-track that it goes down to cross a brook and then climbs to meet a dirt road (km 2,3).
We leave to the left the road toward the mount Dente and we go down to the right. The road goes down steep and we follows it for 300 meters.
When we meet a path that goes to the left we take it (the dirt road continues and leads on the river in correspondence of a beautiful lake).
Our path skirts the river and it reachesa bridge not too much sure (km 2,9).
On the opposite shore we have to push to overcome a ramp and we now continue on the rather narrow path on steep slant. We arrive in sight of a farmhouse where we have to be careful and to turn to the right to enter the narrow path that passes between an enclosure and the shore of the stream (being wrong and straight on going we would reach the farmhouse and the asphalt; it is possible to go to the right there and to take the correct path, but we have to face a goose keeper).
We reach and we cross the long and narrow bridge that crosses the Orba. On the other shore we climb on foot some meter and we easily continue then to a farmhouse (km 3,7).
We pass above of the house taking a wide dirt road. To a fork (km 4,2) we go to the right and we continue up to the intersection with the asphalt (km 4,5).
We turn to the right and we go down on the asphalt up to the curve where we take to the left the dirt road (km 5).
The road goes down and we leaves it just before a farmhouse to go to the right. We pass a brook and we continue to the right. The path gradually widens and becomes a wide dirt road that goes down with ample hairpin bends.
We skirt along the park of the Abbey and we reach the road of access (km 6,2). We turn to the right and follow the road that climbs to the bridge on the Orba (km 6,6). Gradient: 180 ms Cycle: 97%. Observations: Tarmac: 18%
