Discesa dal monte Calvo a Rossiglione

Partenza: il monte Calvo è situato a pochi minuti dalla strada asfaltata percorsa dall'itinerario 3.
Descrizione.
Dalla vetta del monte Calvo scendiamo, sul sentiero utilizzato per salire, in direzione sud e raggiungiamo la strada asfaltata che seguiamo a sinistra per trenta metri (km 0,3; segnavia FIE g42).
Ci troviamo ad un quadrivio: di fronte la strada sale verso la sterrata per passo Fruia (percorso n° 3), a destra la strada scende a Tiglieto.
Noi svoltiamo a sinistra in una strada sterrata in discesa seguendo il segnavia g42 che ci accompagnerà fino alla fine.
Ad un bivio (km 0,6) scendiamo a sinistra seguendo una mulattiera dal fondo dissestato. Al tratto in discesa segue una salita che ci porta su un crinale (km 1).
Svoltiamo a sinistra e saliamo ancora per poco. Affrontiamo una discesa ripida e sassosa al cui termine seguiamo ancora il crinale per un centinaio di metri.
Il sentiero scende a destra e costeggia il crinale per raggiungerlo ed attraversarlo più in basso (km 1,6).
La discesa ci porta alla base di una salita non ciclabile che superiamo raggiungendo un colletto (km 2,1) roccioso.
La discesa inizia ripida ed entra nel bosco. Superiamo alcune ripidissime curve che ci portano ad un ripiano. Attraversiamo il bosco con facile percorso. Il sentiero scende con sassi e fondo roccioso e termina sui prati nei pressi dei ruderi di una casa (km 2,6).
Svoltiamo nettamente a destra seguendo il sentiero pianeggiante che entra nel bosco. Alcuni tornanti scendono a guadare un ruscello (km 3,1).
Dobbiamo salire un ripido e dissestato sentiero, in buona parte non ciclabile, fino ad un colletto (km 3,2).
Scendiamo e percorriamo un sentiero a mezza costa, progressivamente più facile, che si allarga a strada forestale.
Scendiamo costeggiando una recinzione e raggiungiamo un quadrivio (km 4,3).
Proseguiamo diritto raggiungendo un bivio dove saliamo a sinistra. La stradina termina e si restringe a largo sentiero che scende ripido e con fondo roccioso.
La discesa termina su un ampio piazzale (km 5) adibito a parcheggio per il campo sportivo. Attraversiamo il piazzale e prendiamo la strada asfaltata che sale a sinistra. La breve salita termina all'incrocio con la strada provinciale (km 5,3).
Svoltiamo a destra e seguiamo l'asfalto fino a Rossiglione Inferiore (km 7,2).
Dislivello: 530 m.
Ciclabilità: 96%.
Asfalto: 30%
Osservazioni: Non percorribile in salita. Il monte Calvo è facilmente raggiungibile dal Valico della Crocetta seguendo l'itinerario 3 oppure arrivando dal passo Fruia (itinerario 15).
Variante 14.1: Svoltare a destra ed abbandonare la sterrata per entrare nel prato a destra, dove inizia il bosco. Si costeggia il limitare del bosco, verso destra, fino a quando non si incontra un sentiero che scende.
Qualche tratto ciclabile poi si scende ripidamente ad un guado per arrivare infine sulla sponda del rio Gargassa.
Si va a sinistra sul marcato sentiero che costeggia il torrente e termina al campo sportivo.
Variante 14.2: Si svolta a sinistra trovando subito tratti di asfalto.
La strada scende a superare il rio Gargassino, poi risale per raggiungere la provinciale. Siamo a 3.5 km da Rossiglione.

Descent from the Calvo mountain to Rossiglione

Description.
From the peak of the Calvo mountain we go down, on the path used for climbing, in south direction and we reach the tarmac that we follow to the left for thirty meters (km 0,3; trail sign FIE g42).
We are to a crossroads: in front of us the road climbs toward the pass Fruia (itinerary n° 3), to the right the road goes down to Tiglieto.
We turn to the left in a dirt road in descent following the trail sign g42 that will accompany us up to the end.
To a fork (km 0,6) we go down to the left following a mule-track with the rough bottom. To the stretch in descent it follows an ascent that leads us on a ridge (km 1).
We turn to the left and we climb still a little. We face a steep and stony descent to whose term still follow the ridge for hundred meters.
The path goes down to the right and skirts the ridge for reaching and to cross it more in low (km 1,6).
The descent leads at the base of a non cycle ascent that we get over reaching a pass (km 2,1) rocky.
The descent begins steep and enters the wood. We get over some steep curves that leads to a ledge. We cross the wood with easy run. The path goes down with stones and rocky bottom and finishes on the lawns near the ruins of a house (km 2,6).
We turn to the right clearly following the level path that enters the wood. Some hairpin bends go down to ford a brook (km 3,1).
We have to climb a steep and rough path, with non cycle part, up to a pass (km 3,2).
We go down and we cross a path to hillside, progressively easier, that widens to forest road.
We go down skirting an enclosure and we reach a crossroads (km 4,3).
We continue straight on reaching a fork where we climb to the left. The narrow road finishes and tightens its to wide path that goes down steep and with rocky bottom.
The descent finishes on an ample square (km 5) turned to parking lot for the sporting field. We cross the square and we take to the left the tarmac road that climbs. The short ascent finishes to the intersection with the provincial road (km 5,3).
We turn to the right and we follow the asphalt up to Rossiglione Inferiore (km 7,2).
Gradient: 530 ms.
Cycle: 90%.
Observations: Not practicable in ascent. The Calvo mountain is easily attainable from the Pass of the Crocetta following the itinerary 3 or arriving from the pass Fruia (itinerary 15).
Varying 14.1: turn to the right and leave the dirt road to enter to the right the lawn, where the wood begins. We skirt the threshold of the wood, toward right, up to when a path we meet that goes down.
Some stretches cycle then we steeply go down to a ford to finally arrive on the bank of the brook Gargassa.
We go to the left on the marked path that skirts the stream and it finishes to the sporting field.
Varying 14.2: we turn to the left immediately finding stretches of asphalt.
The road goes down to overcome the Gargassino, then climbs again to reach the provincial road. We are to 3.5 kms from Rossiglione.
