Aggiornamento: 11/2006 Partenza: Casella è raggiungibile, oltre che seguendo le strade, anche con la linea ferroviaria Genova-Casella. Percorso.
Dalla stazione di Casella seguiamo il viale in leggera discesa che si allontana dal centro.
Al grande incrocio proseguiamo diritti e superiamo il ponte sullo Scrivia. Subito dopo il ponte svoltiamo a sinistra in via Regiosi (km 0,6).
Costeggiamo il fiume con andamento pianeggiante. Superati i frantoi la strada sale con ripide rampe e raggiunge un bivio al top della salita (km 2,8) dove andiamo diritto.
Dopo cento metri svoltiamo a sinistra in una strada che sale. L'asfalto lascia il posto allo sterrato e raggiungiamo un'ultima casa (km 3,5).
Il percorso si restringe a sentiero in discesa. Raggiungiamo l'incrocio con l'alta via (km
3,9) e proseguiamo raggiungendo una strada sterrata. Proseguiamo in discesa mentre il fondo diventa asfaltato. Ad un tornante (km 4,5) lasciamo l'asfalto e prendiamo a destra il sentiero su cui corrono i segnavia FIE ( , ).
Con qualche passo non ciclabile il sentiero ci porta sull'asfalto che seguiamo in discesa fino a Crocetta di Orero (km 5,1).
Prendiamo la stretta strada tra le case, cartello escursionistico sull'angolo, e la seguiamo in salita. Passiamo presso la chiesa di Orero e raggiungiamo
Costa Fontana ad un incrocio con una chiesetta (km 6,3).
Svoltiamo a destra salendo su asfalto. Dopo alcune centinaia di metri incontriamo un bivio dove scendiamo a sinistra e poi subito a destra. La discesa termina ad alcune case.
Riprendiamo a salire. Tralasciamo a destra la sterrata che condurrebbe alla cresta dove passa l'AV e scendiamo.
La strada conduce ad una casa dove termina. Non la seguiamo fino in fondo ed all'ultimo tornante (km 8,1) la abbandoniamo ed entriamo, a destra, in una sterrata chiusa da una sbarra. Dopo un tratto in salita, facilitato dal fondo in cemento, la strada
costeggia in piano il versante passando nei pressi di una stalla. Dopo una sbarra (km 9,7) incontriamo alcune case (case Cascina).
Proseguiamo sulla strada sterrata in discesa e raggiungiamo un incrocio (km 10,2) dove svoltiamo a destra, su asfalto (indicazioni MTB).
Superiamo una ripida rampa al cui termine inizia lo sterrato.
Un tratto pianeggiante ci porta ad un crocicchio (km 10,6) dove scendiamo a sinistra, seguendo il tracciato principale.
La stradina scende, leggermente dissestata all'inizio, e raggiunge un bivio (km 10,9) dove incrociamo il sentiero FIE percorso dall'itinerario 25. Saliamo a destra e raggiungiamo una strada sterrata (km 11,5) di cui seguiamo il ramo destro.
La strada diviene asfaltata e sale alla Provinciale (km 12). Svoltiamo a destra e saliamo al Santuario (km 12,3).
Proseguiamo oltre la chiesa, sulla strada per Vallecalda e, dopo 200 m, svoltiamo a sinistra in una stradina che sale (segnavia e ).
All'ultima casa (km 12,7) abbandoniamo l'AV e svoltiamo nettamente a destra (segnavia ).
Seguiamo una stradina asfaltata. L'asfalto termina all'ultima casa e continuiamo a salire raggiungendo una spalla del monte Cappellino (km 13,6) dove ha inizio la discesa.
Scendiamo seguendo una strada forestale che ci porta ad un bivio (km 14,1) dove teniamo la sinistra, sempre sul segnavia.
Dopo poco più di cento metri incontriamo un quadrivio dove svoltiamo a sinistra lasciando a destra la variante 14.1.
Il largo sentiero scende gradatamente e termina sulla strada provinciale (km 15). Svoltiamo a destra e seguiamo l'asfalto fin quando vediamo a sinistra un cappella. Dopo pochi metri svoltiamo a destra (km 15,4) in una stradina sterrata che seguiamo per sessanta metri. Scendiamo a destra in una strada con fondo erboso. In discesa entriamo nel bosco e proseguiamo a lungo senza difficoltà.
La pendenza aumenta bruscamente e la discesa diviene abbastanza difficile ma percorribile in sella. La discesa termina ad un ponticello (km 16,8).
Svoltiamo a sinistra seguendo l'asfalto ma, dopo pochi metri, svoltiamo a destra nel primo sentiero erboso. Costeggiamo le case e raggiungiamo l'asfalto (km 17,2). Seguiamo la stradina che ci porta a Busalla (km 17,6). Dislivello: 560 m. Ciclabilità: quasi 100% Osservazioni: Asfalto: 52% Variante 14.1. al quadrivio (km 14,2) svoltiamo a destra abbandonando il segnavia. Il largo sentiero aumenta gradatamente di pendenza e scende ad una casa (km 15,7) e da lì alla provinciale nei pressi del casello autostradale di Busalla (km 16,3).

From the station of Casella we follow the avenue in light descent that goes out of the center.
To the great intersection we continue straight and we overcome the bridge on the Scrivia. Immediately after the bridge we turn to the left at the street Regiosi (km 0,6).
We skirt the river with level course. Overcome the crushers the road it climbs with steep ramps and it reaches a fork to the top of the ascent (km 2,8) where we go straight.
After one hundred meters we turn to the left in a road that climbs. The asphalt leaves the place to unsurfaced ground and we reach a last house (km 3,5).
The run narrows to path in descent. We reach the intersection with the Alta Via (km 3,9) and we continue reaching an unmetalled road. We continue in descent while the bottom becomes asphalted. To a hairping bend (km 4,5) we leave the asphalt and take to the right the path on which it race the trail signs FIE take ( , ).
With some non cycle pass the path brings us on the asphalt that we follow in descent up to Crocetta of Orero (km 5,1).
We take the hold road among the houses, hiking poster on the angle, and we follow it in ascent. We pass near the church of Orero and we reach Coast Fountain to an intersection with a church (km 6,3).
We turn to the right climbing on asphalt. After some hundred meters we meet a fork where we go down to the left and then to the right immediately. The descent finishes to some houses.
We start over climbing. We skip to the right the unsurfaced road that would lead to the ridge where it passes the AV and we go down.
The road leads to a house where it finishes. We don't follow after all it but to the last hairping bend (km 8,1) we give up it and we enter, to the right, in an unmetalled road closed by a bar. After a tract in ascent, facilitated by the bottom in cement, the road skirts in plain the slope passing near a cow-shed. After a bar (km 9,7) we meet some houses (houses Cascina).
We continue on the unmetalled road in descent and we reach an intersection (km 10,2) where we turn to the right, on asphalt (indications MTB).
We overcome a steep ramp to whose term begins dirty bottom.
A level tract brings us to a crossroad (km 10,6) where we go down to the left, following the principal layout.
The narrow road goes down, slightly ruined to the beginning, and it reaches a fork (km 10,9) where we cross the path FIE run by the itinerary 25. We climb to the right and we reach an unmetalled road (km 11,5) of which follow the right branch.
The road becomes asphalted and climb to the Provincial one (km 12). We turn to the right and we climb to the Sanctuary (km 12,3).
We continue over the church, on the road for Vallecalda and, after 200 ms, we turn to the left in a narrow road that climbs (trail sign and ).
To the last house (km 12,7) we give up the AV and we turn to the right clearly (trail sign ).
We follow an asphalted narrow road. The asphalt finishes to the last house and we keeps on climbing reaching a shoulder of the Cappellino mountain (km 13,6) where it has beginning the descent.
We go down following a forest road that brings us to a fork (km 14,1) where we hold the left, always on the trail sign.
After few more than one hundred meters we meet a crossroads where we turn to the left leaving to the right the variation 14.1.
The wide path gradually goes down and finishes on the provincial road (km 15). We turn to the right and we follow the asphalt as far as we see to the left a chapel. After few meters we turn to the right (km 15,4) in an unmetalled narrow road that we follow for sixty meters. We go down to the right in a road with grassy bottom. In descent we enter the wood and we continue for a long time without difficulty.
The inclination brusquely increases and the descent becomes enough difficult but practicable in saddle. The descent finishes to a bridge (km 16,8).
We turn to the left following the asphalt but, after few meters, we turn to the right in the first grassy path. We skirt the houses and we reach the asphalt (km 17,2). We follow the narrow road that brings us to Busalla (km 17,6). Gradient: 560 ms. Cycle: almost 100% Observations: Asphalt: 52% Varying 14.1.
to the crossroads (km 14,2) we turn to the right giving up the trail sign. The wide path gradually increases of inclination and goes down to a house (km 15,7) and from there to the provincial road near the motorway tollgate of Busalla (km 16,3).
