Aggiornamento 11/2001 Partenza: Descrizione.
Dal centro di Toirano raggiungiamo l´incrocio tra la strada che sale al Giogo
di Toirano e quella che va a Balestrino. Andiamo verso Balestrino.
Saliamo seguendo la provinciale fino alle case di Barescione (km 0,6). Qui scendiamo
a sinistra per seguire la mattonata che attraversa il borgo. Proseguiamo poi in
salita ed arriviamo nei pressi della Provinciale.
Senza raggiungerla svoltiamo a sinistra. Una breve discesa ci porta al termine
dell´asfalto (km 1,2). Proseguiamo in piano tra gli ulivi ed arriviamo ad un guado.
Al di là del torrente la strada inizia a salire e raggiungiamo una casa (km 2,3).
A sinistra della casa sale una stretta stradina, all´inizio in cemento. Saliamo
alternando tratti non ciclabili ad altri pianeggianti ed infine scendiamo ad un
antico ponte (ponte de' là Utra; km 3,4).
Dopo il ponte la mulattiera sale ripida e non ciclabile per duecento metri, poi
incontriamo una strada che seguiamo a destra. Arriviamo ad una strada più ampia
dove trascuriamo la segnalazione per Balestrino e svoltiamo a sinistra. Un'ampia
strada sale a svolte tra gli ulivi, raggiunge un incrocio dove troviamo l´asfalto
e dove saliamo a sinistra.
Superiamo il cimitero ed arriviamo sulla provinciale (km 5,8).
Dobbiamo seguire la provinciale fino ad un valico (km 11) dove svoltiamo a sinistra
(indicazioni per il santuario).
Dopo 250 metri la strada diviene sterrata e prosegue in leggera salita fino alla
zona sacra (km 13).
Lasciamo a sinistra il recinto e proseguiamo a destra sulla sterrata pianeggiante.
Usciti dal bosco il panorama comincia ad allargarsi. La strada scende con qualche
tornante e raggiunge una sella, poi risale fino ad uscire in vetta al Poggio Ceresa
(km 15,6; cappella ed antenne).

Updating 11/2001 Description.
From the center of Toirano we reach the intersection between the road that climbs
Toirano Pass and that that it goes to Balestrino.
We direct toward Balestrino and we climb following the provincial road up to the
houses of Barescione (km 0,6). We go down to the left here to follow the paved
trail that it crosses the suburb. We continue then in slope and we arrive near
the provincial road.
Without reaching it we turn to the left. A short descent brings us at the end
of the asphalt (km 1,2). We continue in plain among the olive trees and we arrive
to a ford. Beyond the stream the road it begins to climb and we reach a house
(km 2,3).
To the left of the house climbs a hold narrow road, to the beginning in concrete.
We climb alternating non cycle tracts to others level and we finally go down to
an ancient bridge (bridge de' là Utra; km 3,4).
After the bridge the mule-track climbs steep and not cycle for two hundred meters,
meet then a road that we follow to the right. We arrive to an ampler road where
we neglect the signaling for Balestrino and we turn to the left. An ample road
climbs to turns among the olive trees, it reaches an intersection where we find
the asphalt and where we climb to the left.
We get over the cemetery and we arrive on the provincial road (km 5,8).
We have to follow the provincial road to a pass (km 11) where we turn to the left
(indications for the sanctuary).
The road continues in light slope up to the sacred zone (km 13).
We leave to the left the enclosure and we continue to the right on dirt level
road. Gone out of the wood the panorama it starts to widen itself. The road goes
down with some hairping curves and reaches a saddle, then it goes up again to
go out in peak to the Ceresa Hill (km 15,6; chapel and spar).
