Aggiornamento: 11/2007 Partenza: il monte Prati di Capenardo è raggiungibile utilizzando l'itinerario 6. All'inizio dello sterrato proseguiamo sull'asfalto e raggiungiamo Capenardo. Qui voltiamo a sinistra e seguiamo al contrario l''itinerario descritto di seguito. Descrizione.
Dalla piazzola antistante alle antenne scendiamo seguendo la strada di accesso che perde quota con qualche tornante e percorre il crinale fino a raggiungere l'asfalto (km 1,2).
Proseguiamo diritti e scendiamo tra le case di Capenardo raggiungendo la chiesetta ed il bar-ristorante (km 1,3).
Svoltiamo a sinistra scendendo sulla mulattiera seguendo il segnavia FIE . Scendiamo prestando attenzione al fondo sdrucciolevole, attraversiamo qualche tratto spinoso ed usciamo su una strada asfaltata (km 1,8). Seguiamo la strada che scende a destra ed effettua un tornante. Restiamo sull'asfalto fino a quando il segnavia prende un sentiero a destra (km 2,6).
Attraversiamo di nuovo la strada e scendiamo sull'asfalto (km 3,4) seguendolo a sinistra per un po'. Scendiamo ancora sul sentiero e ritroviamo l'asfalto dove andiamo a sinistra per pochi metri.
Prendiamo una stradina a destra e raggiungiamo la cisterna dell'acquedotto (km 4).
Il sentiero ritorna sulla strada nei pressi di una casa; andiamo a sinistra seguendo l'asfalto e raggiungendo Calvari.
Svoltiamo a destra (km 4,6) non sul segnavia ma una cinquantina di metri più avanti.
Attraversiamo le strette viuzze ed usciamo su una piazza fuori dal paese (km 5) e continuiamo la discesa seguendo la strada.
Incrociamo la strada principale e continuiamo a scendere intersecando molte volte l'asfalto.
Percorriamo anche qualche scaletta e raggiungiamo la strada per l'ultima volta (km 7).
Scendiamo a sinistra sull'asfalto (trascurando il segnavia)
e svoltiamo a destra al primo incrocio.
Siamo ora sull'itinerario 36 e lo seguiamo. Scendiamo all'ingresso del Ponte di Cavassolo (km 7,2) ed imbocchiamo l'Acquedotto procedendo con percorso pianeggiante.
Una breve salita ci porta alle rovine dell'Oratorio
di San Rocco (km 8,3). Scendiamo ad un palazzo, lasciamo a destra (km 8,5) l'itinerario 36 e proseguiamo sulla stradina asfaltata che diviene crosa mattonata che scende rapidamente alle case di Prato vecchia.
Percorriamo le stradine raggiungendo la viabilità principale (km 9). Dislivello: -780 m. Ciclabilità: 99% Asfalto: 20% Osservazioni: percorso a volte infrascato, un po' sporco (cocci di vetro), spesso umido e scivoloso. Molta attenzione negli incroci con la strada.
Descent from Monte Prati di Capenardo to Prato
Updating: 11/2007 Start: the monte Prati of Capenardo is attainable using the itinerary 6. At the beginning of the dirt road we continue on the asphalt and we reach Capenardo. We turn to the left here and we follow contrarily the itinerary described following. Description.
From the platform in front of the aerials we go down following the road of access that loses height with some hairping bend and it crosses the ridge up to reach the asphalt (km 1,2).
We continue straight and we go down among the houses of Capenardo reaching the small church and the cafe-restaurant (km 1,3).
We turn to the left going down on the mule-track following the trail sign FIE . We go down paying attention to the slippery bottom, we cross some thorny tract and we go out on an asphalted road (km 1,8). We follow the road that goes down to the right and it effects a hairping bend. We stay on the asphalt up to when the trail sign takes a path to the right (km 2,6).
We cross again the road and we go down on the asphalt (km 3,4) following to the left it for some. We still go down on the path and we find again the asphalt where we go to the left for few meters.
We take to the right a narrow road and we reach the cistern of the aqueduct (km 4).
The path returns on the road near a house; we go to the left following the asphalt and reaching Calvari.
We turn to the right (km 4,6) not on the trail sign but about fifty more meters after that.
We cross the narrow lanes and we go out on a square out of the country (km 5) and we continue the descent following the road.
We cross the principal road and we keep on going down intersecting a lot of times the asphalt. We also cross some short stairs and we reach the road the last time (km 7).
We go down to the left on the asphalt (neglecting the trail sign) and we turn to the right to the first intersection.
We are on the itinerary 36 now and we follow it. We go down to the entry of the Bridge of Cavassolo (km 7,2) and we take the aqueduct proceeding with level run.
A brief ascent brings us to the ruins of the oratory of St. Rocco (km 8,3). We go down to a building, we leave to the right (km 8,5) the itinerary 36 and we continue on the narrow asphalted road that it becomes a paved crosa that it quickly goes down to the houses of Prato.
We cross the narrow road reaching the principal road (km 9). Gradient: -780 ms. Cycle: 99% Asphalt: 20% Observations: run sometime by twigs occupies, some dirt (crocks of glass), often damp and slippery. A lot of attention in the intersections with the road.
