L'Acquedotto Storico della val Bisagno

Partenza: partiamo dal ponte sul Bisagno, in località Cavassolo, a 9 km da Staglieno.
Descrizione.
Attraversiamo il ponte e seguiamo la strada asfaltata che sale a Davagna. Cinquanta metri dopo il tornante incrociamo l'acquedotto, ma non lo prendiamo (sarebbe un breve tratto, invaso dalla spazzatura) e proseguiamo fino all´incrocio con una strada asfaltata che scende a sinistra (km 0,4).
Scendiamo e svoltiamo poco dopo a sinistra scendendo ad una cappella dove entriamo sull'acquedotto (segnavia FIE r12).
Andiamo a destra ed attraversiamo subito il ponte-canale sul rio Cavassolo. Il tracciato prosegue senza difficoltà. Qualche metro prima dei visibili ruderi dell'oratorio di S. Rocco (km 1,6) lasciamo il tracciato e saliamo a destra per pochi metri.
Seguiamo una stradina che scende ad un edificio e continua a scendere. Al primo incrocio abbandoniamo il segnavia e svoltiamo a destra in via Passo per S. Cosimo. La stradina in cemento sale costeggiando gli impianti dell'acquedotto e raggiunge un piazzale all'ingresso dello stabilimento di potabilizzazione (km 1,9).
Seguiamo la strada asfaltata dove incrociamo i segnavia dei sentieri che scendono dalla Gola di Sisa (itinerario 16; FIE r19, r30).
Proseguiamo raggiungendo via Trossarelli che seguiamo a sinistra. Lasciamo a sinistra la crosa dell´itinerario 16 e proseguiamo per altri 50 metri.
Svoltiamo a destra e riprendiamo l'acquedotto. Incrociamo numerose stradine ed il nostro tracciato cambia nome, ma continuiamo sul tracciato pianeggiante senza possibilità di errore.
Arriviamo al grande ponte sul rio Torbido (km 3,5) e, poco dopo, superiamo quello sul rio Piaggetto.
Il percorso arriva ad incrociare la Sp13 per Creto (km 4,4) che seguiamo a destra per pochi metri, poi svoltiamo a sinistra per il cimitero di Struppa. Dopo pochi metri andiamo a destra di nuovo sull'evidente acquedotto. Costeggiamo le mura del cimitero e proseguiamo fino ad incontrare Via alla Costa di San Siro che raggiungiamo salendo qualche gradino (km 5,7).
Seguiamo la strada lastricata che scende a sinistra e svoltiamo subito a destra in un sentierino che ci riporta sull'acquedotto.
Proseguiamo senza difficoltà avvicinandoci alle case di Molassana. Lasciamo a destra una chiesa e raggiungiamo l´incrocio con via Cotella dove passa l´itinerario 37 (segnavia FIE r13) e proseguiamo diritti. Il tracciato confluisce in una strada asfaltata (km 7; via San Felice) che seguiamo a sinistra.
Dopo 50 metri svoltiamo a destra in via alle Brughe e la seguiamo fino al suo termine. Scendiamo nella crosa (via Costa Fredda), all'inizio scalinata, e raggiungiamo il fondovalle sulla riva del rio Geirato (km 7,8).
Svoltiamo a sinistra, passiamo sotto all'impercorribile ponte-canale dell'acquedotto ed attraversiamo il torrente su un ponte. Proseguiamo in via Bernardini e saliamo a destra in via di Pino.
Saliamo sull´asfalto. Dopo le ultime costruzioni incontriamo di nuovo l'acquedotto (km 9,1; incrocio con Viale Pino Sottano) che prendiamo svoltando a sinistra.
Superiamo alcune case ed entriamo nella valle di Trensasco. Facciamo attenzione perchè di qui in avanti mancano spesso delle lastre di copertura, ma soprattutto vi sono lastre incrinate, meno visibili ma pericolose. Superiamo su un sentiero un ponte crollato e continuiamo facendo attenzione alle lastre.
Il tracciato arriva al fondovalle, sotto di noi vi sono le costruzioni dei Molini di Trensasco. Ad un bivio proseguiamo diritti affrontando un tratto disssestato da una frana in atto ed usciamo ad un ponte tra le case (km 11,4).
Attraversiamo il ponte e scendiamo subito a sinistra un tratto scalinato. Usciamo sulla strada asfaltata che seguiamo a sinistra.
Qualche metro dopo il cartello stradale che indica "Genova" lasciamo l´asfalto e saliamo a destra (km 11,7).
Ritroviamo l'acquedotto e proseguiamo con le solite avvertenze. Raggiungiamo un ponte (km 13,3). Il tratto che segue richiede qualche attenzione in più perchè il tracciato è più stretto, i ponti presentano il parapetto solo sul lato a valle, il passaggio delle lastre rotte è meno facile e gli alti muraglioni sono privi di protezione.
Al termine di questo tratto incontriamo una stradina (km 14,1) e proseguiamo con percorso ora in buone condizioni e protetto da ringhiere.
Arriviamo ad incrociare via Lodi tra le case di Preli. Il tracciato prosegue evidente al di là della strada. Attraversiamo il ponte-canale di Figallo e proseguiamo facilmente fino alla chiesa di Staglieno (km 16,1) dove incontriamo l´itinerario 35.
L'acquedotto prosegue diritto, ma si interrompe poco più avanti, infatti il passaggio del grande ponte-sifone del Veilino è chiuso.
Allora non resta che seguire l´itinerario 35.
Seguiamo quindi l´asfalto a sinistra per una decina di metri e prendiamo a destra seguendo una scaletta. Percorriamo ora una larghissima mattonata che costeggia il muro del cimitero e termina in via delle Gavette (km 16,4) a due passi dalla viabilità principale.
Dislivello: 100 m.
Ciclabilità: quasi 100%
Asfalto: il fondo è lastricato in pietra di Luserna, mattonato, in cemento o asfaltato.
Osservazioni: percorribile anche in senso contrario, con qualche accorgimento (vedi varianti) per migliorare la ciclabilità.
Variante 36.1. Utile per il percorso in senso contrario.
La chiesa di Staglieno è raggiungibile per asfalto, evitando così di percorrere la crosa scalinata in salita (non ho fatto questa variante).
Variante 36.2. Utile per il percorso in senso contrario.
Incontrata via di Pino (km 0) è opportuno non percorrerla in discesa, ma attraversarla e seguire Viale di Pino Sottano. Arrivati ad un incrocio di stradine (km 0,4) svoltiamo a destra e seguiamo la strada che scende. La strada si trasforma in una crosa che scende ripida ed esce in via Geirato (km 0,9). Svoltiamo a destra e seguiamo via Geirato fino a via Molassana (km 1,4). Svoltiamo a sinistra e, dopo la rotatoria, proseguiamo in via Molassana fino all´incrocio con via S. Felice (km 1,6). Seguiamo questa strada che sale tra le case. Quando incontriamo a destra via alle Brughe svoltiamo e siamo sull'acquedotto.
Variante 36.3. Brevissima ma interessante.
Dopo lo stabilimento di potabilizzazione proseguiamo sull'itinerario principale superando il ponte di pochi metri. A sinistra scende una crosa col fondo in pietra (Salita Ruinà). La prendiamo e scendiamo per venti metri. Svoltiamo a destra in un sentiero pianeggiante che porta all'ingresso della galleria della Ruinà. Proseguiamo sull'acquedotto, scavalchiamo qualche scalino, attraversiamo la crosa percorsa dall'itinerario 16 e raggiungiamo l'itinerario principale dove abbandona la provinciale (km 0,5).

The Historical Aqueduct of the Bisagno Valley

Description.
We start from the bridge on the Bisagno, in the place Cavassolo, 9 kms from Staglieno.
We cross the bridge and we follow the tarmac that climbs to Davagna. Fifty meters after the hairpin bend we cross the aqueduct, but we don't take it (it would be a brief stretch, invaded by the garbage) and we continue up to the intersection with a tarmac road that goes down to the left (km 0,4).
We go down and we turn to the left shortly after going down to a chapel where we enter on the aqueduct (trail sign FIE r12).
We go to the right and we immediately cross the bridge-channel on the brook Cavassolo. The layout continues without difficulty.. Some meter before the visible ruins of the oratory of S.Rocco (km 1,6) we leave the layout and we climb to the right.
We follow a narrow road that goes down to a building and continue to go down. At the first intersection we leave the trail sign and we turn to the right at the street Pass for S.Cosimo. The narrow concrete road climbs skirting the installations of the aqueduct and it reaches a square at the entry of the establishment (the smell of chlorine shows out that here make drinkable the water; km 1,9).
We follow the tarmac where we cross the trail signs of the paths that go down from the Gola of Sisa (itinerary 16; FIE r19, r30).
We continue reaching via Filters that we follow to the left. We leave to the left the crosa of the itinerary 16 and we continue for other 50 meters.
We turn to the right and we take the aqueduct. We cross numerous narrow roads and our layout it changes name, but we continue on the level layout without possibility of error.
We reach the great bridge on the brook Torbido (km 3,5) and, shortly after we get over that on the brook Piaggetto.
The run arrives to cross the SP13 for Creto (km 4,4) that we follow to the right for few meters, we turn to the left then for the cemetery of Struppa. After few meters we go again to the right on the evident aqueduct. We skirt along the boundaries of the cemetery and we continue to meet Via alla Costa di St. Siro that we reach climbing some step (km 5,7).
We follow the paved road that goes down to the left and we turns to the right immediately in a narrow path that leads on the aqueduct again.
We continue without difficulty approaching us to the houses of Molassana. The layout meets in a tarmac road (km 7) that we follow to the left.
After 50 meters we turn to the right at Street delle Brughe that we follow up to his term to an intersection. We turn to the left in the narrow road that begins to go down and leads to the floor of the valley on the shore of the stream Geirato (km 7,8).
We turn to the left, go under to the bridge-channel of the aqueduct and we cross the stream on a bridge. We continue in street Bernardini and we climb to the right in the street of Pino.
We climb on the asphalt. After the last constructions we meet again the aqueduct (km 9,1; intersection with Avenue Pino Sottano). We turn to the left, again on the aqueduct.
We get over some houses and we enter the valley of Trensasco. We watch out because from now on they often miss some plates of coverage, but there are above all cracked plates, less visible but dangerous. We get over on a path a collapsed bridge and we continue watching out for the plates.
The layout reaches the floor of the valley, under of us there are the constructions of the Molini of Trensasco. To a fork we continue straight on facing a rough stretch because of a landslide in action and we go out to a bridge among the houses (km 11,4).
We cross the bridge and we go down to the left immediately descending a stair. We go out on the tarmac that we follow to the left.
Some meter after the road poster that points out "Genova" we leave the asphalt and we climb to the right (km 11,7).
We find again the aqueduct and we continue with the usual care. We reach a bridge (km 13,3). The stretch that follows asks for some more attention because the layout is more narrow, the bridges has the parapet only on the side downstream, the passage of the broken plates is less easy and the high walls are without protection.
At the end of this stretch we meet a narrow road (km 14,1) and we now continue with good conditions run, protected from handrails.
We arrive to cross street Lodi among the houses of Preli. The layout continues evident beyond the road. We cross the bridge-channel of Figallo and we easily continue up to the church of Staglieno (km 16,1) where we meet the itinerary 35.
The aqueduct continues straight on, but it's interrupt a little anymore after, in fact the passage of the great bridge-siphon of the Veilino is closed.
So we follow the run 35.
We follow to the left the asphalt for about ten meters then we go down to the right following a stair. We now cross a wide paved that skirts the wall of the cemetery and it finishes at the street delle Gavette(km 16,4) a stonesthrow from the main road.
Gradient: 100 ms.
Cycle: almost 100%
Tarmac: the bottom is paved in stone of Luserna, paved, in concrete or asphalted.
