Discesa da Sella di Giassina a Gattorna

Partenza: la sella è attraversata da una strada asfaltata che collega Neirone con Costafontana in val Trebbia. E' raggiungibile con l'itinerario 16 oppure seguendo, al contrario, l'itinerario 4.
Percorso.
Dalla Sella seguiamo in salita la strada asfaltata in direzione del Passo del Portello. Lasciamo a destra l'itinerario 16 della Val Trebbia e raggiungiamo una curva (km 0,5) a destra. A sinistra vi è un cartello indicatore e scende un sentiero (segnavia FIE r22).
La discesa è ripida e molto disturbata dalle felci. Il sentierino si allarga un po' e raggiungiamo un altro cartello segnalatore (km 1; Costa di Sciarrè) dove andiamo a destra.
Il tratto che segue è veramente problematico a causa della fitta macchia. Lo stretto sentiero scende ma dobbiamo abbandonare il segnavia ad un piccolo bivio e andare a destra (il sentiero segnalato si perde tra i rovi).
Seguendo una traccia non sempre evidente scendiamo nella boscaglia fino ad uscire nel bosco oltre la macchia. Qui il sentiero diventa evidente e lo seguiamo a sinistra ritrovando il segnavia.
La discesa diviene decisamente ripida e perdiamo quota rapidamente con una serie di tornantini. Una diagonale a sinistra ci porta alle case diroccate di Siestri (km 2,2).
Presso l'unica casa abitata (cani) incontriamo una strada sterrata che seguiamo in comoda discesa.
Passiamo per località Bugne e a Bossi incontriamo l´asfalto (km 3,1).
La strada asfaltata ci porta ad attraversare le poche case di Isola (km 4,8). Proseguiamo su asfalto per circa 200 metri. Quando il segnavia va a destra lo seguiamo scendendo su un largo sentiero (la strada prosegue per Neirone ed è una possibile alternativa).
Lasciamo a destra una casa e proseguiamo quasi in piano sul sentiero che peggiora rapidamente.
Incontriamo tratti franati, alberi caduti ed arbusti e continuiamo la discesa fino a giungere all'altezza del greto del torrente. Il sentiero va a sinistra raggiungendo il bel Ponte delle Ferriere (km 6,7).
Attraversiamo il ponte e proseguiamo in moderata salita. In prossimità di Roncodonico veniamo circondati da una decina di cani (innocui) e proseguiamo, ancora in salita.
Raggiunto il culmine iniziamo la discesa giungendo in località Crocetta (km 7,6) dove incontriamo il sentiero che scende dal monte Caucaso. In breve raggiungiamo le prime case di Neirone (km 8) e scendiamo per i vicoli fino alla chiesa (km 8,3).
Proseguiamo sulla strada provinciale. Trascuriamo una prima strada ed una segnalazione del percorso IFF iff e continuiamo sulla strada fino al bivio con la sterrata che scende alla centrale elettrica (km 9,7).
Svoltiamo a destra seguendo il segnavia iff. Dopo pochi metri lasciamo la strada e prendiamo il sentiero a sinistra.
Percorriamo un sentiero che corre lungamente tra la sovrastante strada provinciale ed il torrente. Gli ostacoli sono rappresentati dai tratti franati ma occorre fare attenzione ai rifiuti lanciati dalla strada (lamiere, bottiglie rotte).
Il sentiero conduce ad un bivio (km 11,4). E' impossibile proseguire sul sentiero chiuso dai rovi ed allora saliamo a sinistra uscendo sulla vicinissima strada. Svoltiamo a destra e scendiamo su asfalto fino ad una cabina elettrica (km 11,6). Prendiamo il sentiero che costeggia il cimitero, ci prendiamo una buona dose di spine ed usciamo sulla provinciale che seguiamo fino a Gattorna (km 12).
Dislivello: -820 m.
Ciclabilità: 87%.
Asfalto: 36%
Osservazioni: potrebbe essere un tracciato interessante, ma attualmente è talmente invaso dalla vegetazione da essere sconsigliabile.
Ho percorso il tratto dopo Neirone il 22 agosto 2009 e l'ho trovato pulito (dalla vegetazione ma non dal resto). Qualora fosse infrascato sarebbe impraticabile.
Variante 13.1:
Da Sella di Giassina una invitante strada scende in direzione Sciarrè. Alle case prendiamo a destra e saliamo al crinale. La strada prosegue e termina ad alcune case (Cugno Bello; km 2). Attraversiamo i prati cercando di non perdere subito quota e raggiungiamo una selletta. Io ho seguito sulla destra una traccia di sentiero che si è persa nel bosco. Scendiamo nel bosco seguendo tracce o vecchie mulattiere cercando di mantenere la direzione sud. Raggiungiamo case Brugagli (?) dove incontriamo una strada che, seguita a sinistra, porta a Corsiglia.
A Brugagli mi sono ostinato a scendere diritto. Faticosamente sono arrivato sul tubo dell'acquedotto, l´ho seguito a destra e sono sceso ad un sentiero maggiore. Percorso improponibile, ciclabile solo fino a Cugno Bello, poi boschi abbandonati ed impedalabili. Dicembre 2005.

Descent from Giassina Pass to Gattorna

Run.
From the Pass we follow in ascent the tarmac road in direction of the Passo del Portello. We leave to the right the itinerary 16 of the Val Trebbia and we reach a curve (km 0,5) to the right. There is to the left an indicative notice and it goes down a path (trail sign FIE r22).
The descent is steep and very annoyed by the ferns. The path widens a little and we reaches another indicative notice (km 1; Costa of Sciarrè) where we go to the right.
The stretch that follows is really problematic because of the thick bush. The narrow path goes down but we has to leave the trail sign to a small fork and to go to the right (the signalled path loses its among the brambles).
Always following a trace not always evident we go down in the brushwood as far as to go out in the wood over the bush. Here the path becomes evident and we follows to the left it finding again the trail sign.
The descent becomes decidedly steep and we quickly loses height with a series of hairpin bends. A diagonal to the left leads us to the ruined houses of Siestri (km 2,2).
Near the only lived house (dogs) we meet a dirt road that we follow in comfortable descent.
We pass for place Bugne and to Bossi we meet the asphalt (km 3,1).
The tarmac road leads to cross the few houses of Isola (km 4,8). We continue on asphalt for around 200 meters. When the trail sign goes to the right we follow it going down on a wide path (the road continues for Neirone and is a possible alternative).
We leave to the right a house and we continue almost in plain on the path that quickly worsens.
We meet slipped stretches, fallen trees and bushes and we continue the descent up to reach near of the pebbly shore of the stream. The path goes to the left reaching the beautiful Bridge of the Foundries (km 6,7).
We cross the bridge and we continue in moderate ascent. Near Roncodonico we are surrounded by about ten dogs (harmless) and we continue, still in ascent.
Reached the peak we begin the descent coming place Crocetta (km 7,6) where we meet the path that goes down from the Caucaso mountain. Shortly we reach the first houses of Neirone (km 8) and we go down on the alleys up to the church (km 8,3).
We continue on the provincial road. We neglect a first road and a signaling of the run IFF iff and we continue on the road up to the fork with the unsurfaced road that goes down to the electric plant (km 9,7).
We turn to the right following the trail sign iff. After few meters we leave the road and we take to the left the path.
we are crossing a path that longly races among the impending provincial road and the stream. The obstacles are represented by the slipped tracts but it is necessary to watch out for the refusals launched from the road (plates, broken bottles).
The path leads to a fork (km 11,4). It's impossible to continue on the path closed by the brambles and we climb to the left then going out on the near road. We turn to the right and we go down on asphalt to an electric box (km 11,6). the path that skirts the cemetery we take, we take a good dose of thorns and we go out on the provincial road that we follow up to Gattorna (km 12).
Gradient: -820 ms.
Cycle: 87%.
Tarmac: 36%
Observations: it could be an interesting layout, but currently it is so invaded by the vegetation that is unadvisable.
