Scendiamo seguendo la sterrata sul versante settentrionale del Giogo. La strada scende velocemente e dobbiamo fare attenzione ad un bivio, peraltro abbondantemente segnalato, dove dobbiamo lasciare la strada e svoltare a destra (km 0,4; segnavia , e ).
Seguiamo la mulattiera che presenta qualche ripida rampa, dove incontriamo gli unici metri non ciclabili del percorso. Ad un bivio teniamo la sinistra e scendiamo fino a raggiungere la larga strada sterrata (km 2; che avremmo potuto raggiungere più facilmente seguendo integralmente la strada che scende dal Giogo ed andando a destra all'incrocio).
La strada prosegue con qualche saliscendi attraversando la bella faggeta.
Raggiungiamo i prati dove, a sinistra, sono evidenti le case Catalano precedute da un'edicola sacra (km 3,3).
La strada scende ma la lasciamo quasi subito (km 3,4) svoltando a sinistra in una piccola strada forestale.
Scendiamo rapidamente ad un incrocio (km 3,8). Qui svoltiamo a sinistra (segnavia FIE ).
La strada scende leggermente per poi salire al crinale Costa degli Abeti. In discesa raggiungiamo un bivio (km 5) dove troviamo l'itinerario 43 ed il segnavia FIE .
Svoltiamo a destra e seguiamo la sterrata in prevalente discesa fino ad uscire dal bosco sul bel ripiano erboso
di Pianfieno (km 5,7).
Dopo pochi metri svoltiamo a destra imboccando una pista forestale poco evidente. Quando entriamo nel bosco la strada diventa evidente e scende con qualche tornante.
Un tratto molto ripido ci porta alla sponda del rio Secco che costeggiamo lungamente.
Guadiamo il rio (km 7,7) e ci immettiamo in un'altra strada che seguiamo a sinistra raggiungendo un ponte (km 7,9).
La strada corre sulla riva sinistra con andamento pianeggiante. La strada diventa asfaltata e scende a Bardineto (km
9,6).
Andiamo a destra per raggiungere la zona dei campi sportivi ed i parcheggi (km 9,9). Dislivello: -530 m. Ciclabilità: 100% Asfalto: 7% Osservazioni: consigliabile solo in questo senso.

We go down following the unsurfaced road on the northern slope of the Pass. The road quickly goes down and we has to watch out to a fork, besides abundantly signalled, where we have to leave the road and to turn to the right (km 0,4; trail sign , and ).
We follow the mule-track that offers some steep ramp, where we meet the only non cycle meters of the run. To a fork we hold the left and we go down up to reach the wide dirty road (km 2; that we would have been able to reach more easily integrally following the road that goes down from the Pass and going to the right to the intersection).
The road continues with some ups and downs crossing the beautiful beech wood.
We reach the lawns where, to the left, the houses Catalano are evident preceded by a sacred tabernacle (km 3,3).
The road goes down but we almost immediately leave it (km 3,4) turning to the left in a small forest road.
We quickly go down to an intersection (km 3,8). We turn to the left here (trail sign FIE ).
The road slightly goes down for then climbing to the Ridge of the Firs. In descent we reach a fork (km 5) where we find the itinerary 43 and the trail sign FIE .
We turn to the right and we follow the unsurfaced road in prevailing descent up to go out of the wood on the beautiful grassy ledge of Pianfieno (km 5,7).
After few meters we turn to the right taking a few evident forest track. When we enter the wood the road it becomes evident and it goes down with some hairping bends. A very steep tract brings us to the bank of the brook Secco that we longly skirt.
We ford the brook (km 7,7) and enter another road that we follow to the left reaching a bridge (km 7,9).
The road races on the left shore with level course. The road becomes asphalted and goes down to Bardineto (km 9,6).
We go to the right for reaching the zone of the sporting fields and the car park (km 9,9). Gradient: -530 ms. Cycle: 100% Asphalt: 7% Observations: advisable only in this sense.
