Aggiornamento: 6/2006 Partenza: il Colle del Melogno è attraversato dalla strada asfaltata che collega Calizzano con Finale. E' raggiunto dall'itinerario 6 del Vadese; dall'itinerario 2 del Loanese. E' anche raggiungibile utilizzando l'itinerario 9. Descrizione.
Dal Colle del Melogno prendiamo la sterrata che sale e passa dietro al ristorante (segnavia , ). La strada forestale attraversa la foresta demaniale salendo con pendenza abbastanza sostenuta. Ad un bivio (km 1,1) andiamo diritto e saliamo ad un secondo bivio dove andiamo a destra raggiungendo un cancello (km 1,8). Superiamo il cancello e seguiamo la strada pianeggiante che esce dal bosco in una radura con casa forestale e fonte (km 3,1).
Lasciamo a destra i segnavia e proseguiamo sull'ampia strada che sale ad un punto panoramico per poi scendere.
Quando incontriamo una strada che sale a destra (km
4,1) svoltiamo e saliamo ripidamente. Incontriamo un bivio dove continuiamo la salita a destra (segnavia ).
Raggiungiamo un quadrivio (Sella di Monte Grosso; km 4,6) dove proseguiamo diritti, in discesa, sempre seguendo il segnavia.
La strada è in prevalente discesa ma non mancano alcune facili salite. Arriviamo così ad un altro quadrivio (km 6,4) dove prendiamo la strada che sale a destra. Una salita, a tratti ripida, termina sul crinale in località Bassa di Barozzo (km 6,7).
Andiamo a destra. La strada scende ad un incrocio dove andiamo a destra e raggiungiamo un largo sentiero dove passa il segnavia FIE (km 7,2).
Svoltiamo a sinistra e seguiamo questo segnavia che ci accompagnerà fino a Calizzano.
Con ripida discesa raggiungiamo un incrocio dove lasciamo a destra una strada con divieto di accesso. La strada che scende a sinistra subito si biforca. Prendiamo il ramo di destra raggiungendo il crinale (scritte di passo della Luna e disegni sugli alberi; km 8).
Il sentiero scende a destra. Il percorso è ripido e si svolge in un toboga dove le foglie nascondono rami e pietre.
Scendiamo con prudenza ed usciamo su quella sterrata
interrotta dal divieto di accesso (km 8,5).
Proseguiamo a sinistra seguendo la sterrata che presenta tratti ripidi e fondo non molto solido.
La discesa raggiunge l'asfalto presso il cimitero (km 11). Scendiamo sulla statale, svoltiamo a sinistra raggiungendo Calizzano (km 11,8). Dislivello: 290 m in salita e 620 in discesa. Ciclabilità: 100% Asfalto: 7% Osservazioni: consigliabile solo in questo senso.
Descent from Melogno Pass to Calizzano

From the Melogno Pass we take the dirt road that climbs and it passes behind the restaurant (signal track , ). The forest road crosses the forest climbing with inclination enough sustained. To a fork (km 1,1) we go straight on and we climb to a second fork where go to the right reaching a gate (km 1,8). We get over the gate and we follow the level road that goes out of the wood in a clearing with forest house and source (km 3,1).
We leave to the right the trail signs and we continue on the ample road that climbs to a panoramic point and then to go down.
When we meet to the right a road that climbs (km 4,1) we turn and we climb steeply. We meet a fork where we continue to the right the ascent (trail sign ).
We reach a crossroads (Saddle of Big Mountain; km 4,6) where we continue straight on, in descent, always following the trail sign.
The road is in prevailing descent but they there are some easy slopes. We arrive so to another crossroads (km 6,4) where we take the road that climbs to the right. An ascent, with steep stretches, it finishes on the ridge in the place Bassa di Barozzo (km 6,7).
We go to the right. The road goes down to an intersection where we go to the right and we reach a wide path where it passes the trail sign FIE (km 7,2).
We turn to the left and we follow this trail sign that will accompany us up to Calizzano.
With steep descent we reach an intersection where we leave to the right a road with prohibition of access. The road that goes down to the left immediately forks. We take the branch of right reaching the ridge (written of pass of the Moon and sketches on the trees; km 8).
The path goes down to the right. The run is steep and it develops its in a toboggan where the leaves hide branches and stones.
We go down with prudence and we go out on that dirt road interrupted by the prohibition of access (km 8,5).
We continue to the left following the road that presents steep stretches and not solid bottom.
The descent reaches the asphalt near the cemetery (km 11). We go down on the government road, we turn to the left reaching Calizzano (km 11,8). Gradient: 290 ms in ascent and 620 in descent. Cycle: 100% Tarmac: 7% Observations: advisable only in this sense.
