Dalla piazza del paese andiamo verso sud per un centinaio di metri e svoltiamo a sinistra entrando in Vallelunga.
Saliamo seguendo la strada asfaltata che costeggia il torrente. Un tratto più ripido ci porta alle case di
Pedross (km 3,5) e proseguendo in lieve discesa fino alle case di Kapron (km 4,2).
Svoltiamo a destra (segnaletica) in una stradina che scende al ponte sul torrente. Saliamo alle poche case di Riegel dove passiamo presso una cappella ed
usciamo dalle case su una stretta stradina che sale diventando sterrata.
Seguiamo la sterrata che sale nel bosco. Dopo la prima salita il percorso prosegue quasi pianeggiante o in lieve ascesa. Incontriamo varie strade laterali, ma ci sono buone segnalazioni e non c'è possibilità di errore.
Usciamo dal bosco e superiamo una recinzione nei pressi del ponte della strada che arriva da Melag (km 11,2).
In salita seguiamo l'ampia sterrata che ci porta alla malga (km 12,5). Servizio di bar e ristorante. Dislivello: 520 m in salita e 80 in discesa. Ciclabilità: 100% Asfalto: 38% Osservazioni: bella passeggiata priva di ogni difficoltà. Può essere resa ancora più facile partendo da Kapron o da Pazin o da Grub, paesi collegati con ampi raccordi alla sterrata principale.
Climb the Melager Alm from Curon

From the square of the country we go toward south for hundred meters and we turn to the left entering Vallelunga.
We climb following the tarmac that skirts the stream. A steep stretch leads us to the houses of Pedross (km 3,5) and, continuing in light descent, up to the houses of Kapron (km 4,2).
We turn to the right (system of signs) in a narrow road that goes down to the bridge on the stream. We climb to the few houses of Riegel where we pass near a chapel and we go out of the houses on a narrow road that climbs becoming dirt.
We follow the dirt road that climbs in the wood. After the first ascent the run continues almost level or in light ascent. We meet various side roads, but there are good signalings and there is no possibility of error.
We go out of the wood and we get over an enclosure near the bridge of the road that arrives from Melag (km 11,2).
In ascent we follow the ample dirt road that leads to the malga (km 12,5). Service of cafe and restaurant. Gradient: 520 ms in ascent and 80 in descent. Cycle: 100% Tarmac: 38% Observations: beautiful walk deprives of every difficulty. It can be made even more easy departing from Kapron or from Pazin or from Grub, countries linked with ample road to the dirt main road.
