Descrizione.
A Garessio Borgo Ponte partiamo da piazza Vittorio Veneto e seguiamo la strada
che attraversa il passaggio a livello. Al semaforo proseguiamo diritti ed attraversiamo
una borgata raggiungendo un incrocio. Proseguiamo ancora diritto raggiungendo
la piazza del Municipio (km 1,2).
Prendiamo la strada che sale di fronte e svoltiamo a sinistra quando incrociamo
via Monte Grappa. La strada esce dall'abitato e costeggia il torrente diventando
sterrata.
Attraversiamo un ponticello poi iniziamo a salire (segnavia GC e frecce rosa).
Presso i ruderi di S. Mauro (km 2,4) andiamo diritti. Dopo una ripida rampa la
mulattiera va, pianeggiante, a destra.
La pendenza aumenta gradatamente mentre il fondo peggiora. Incontriamo un bivio
dove conviene stare a sinistra ignorando il segnavia. Dopo qualche decina di metri
i due tracciati si riuniscono e continuiamo faticosamente a salire.
Superato questo tratto solo parzialmente ciclabile la pendenza diminuisce e proseguiamo
nel fitto dei boschi.
La mulattiera termina ad una cascina abbandonata (cascina dell'Arciprete; km
4,2).
Andiamo a destra seguendo la strada di servizio. Dopo un guado la strada sale
e raggiunge l´asfalto (km 4,8).
Proseguiamo la salita sulla provinciale per circa 100 metri, poi svoltiamo a
sinistra (segnavia) entrando in una mulattiera che sale ripida.
Dopo il primo tratto il percorso diventa facile e proseguiamo fino ad uscire
su una strada asfaltata (km 5,4).
Seguiamo a destra l´asfalto e raggiungiamo il vicino Colle S. Bernardo (km 6).
Dislivello: 380 m.

Osservazioni: abbastanza frequentato in discesa.
Ascent from Garessio to S. Bernardo Pass

Description.
To Garessio Borgo Ponte we depart from Vittorio Veneto square and we follow
the road that crosses the level crossing. At the traffic lights we continue
straight on and we cross a village reaching an intersection. We continue straight
on again reaching the square of the Town hall (km 1,2).
We take the road that opposite climbs and we turn to the left when we cross
via Monte Grappa. The road goes out of the inhabited area and skirts the stream
becoming a dirt one.
We cross a bridge, then we begin to climb (trail sign GC and pink arrows). Near
the ruins of S. Mauro (km 2,4) we go straight on. After a steep ramp the mule-track
it goes, level, to the right.
The inclination gradually increases while the bottom worsens. We meet a fork
where it is worthwhile to be to the left ignoring the trail sign. After some
about ten meters the two layouts come together again and we continue laboriously
to climb.
Get over this stretch only partially cycle the inclination decreases and we
continues in the rent of the woods.
The mule-track it finishes to an abandoned farmhouse (the Pastor's farmhouse;
km 4,2).
We go to the right following the road of service. After a ford the road climbs
and it reaches the asphalt (km 4,8).
We continue the ascent on the provincial road for around 100 meters, we turn
to the left then (trail sign) entering a mule-track that steep climbs.
After the first stretch the run becomes easy and we continues up to go out on
tarmac (km 5,4).
We follow to the right the asphalt and we reach the near S. Bernardo Pass (km
6).
