Descrizione.
Partiamo dal centro di Ceva (semaforo al ponte per la stazione) e seguiamo la
strada in direzione di Mondovì. Superiamo la doppia rotatoria svoltando
a sinistra nella strada per Viola.
Al termine della salita svoltiamo a sinistra nella strada per Battifollo (km 1,3).
Proseguiamo in piano fino al viadotto sull´autostrada dove svoltiamo a sinistra
per Mazzitelli. La strada costeggia l´autostrada per attraversarla in un sottopasso.
Inizia la salita che porta a Mazzitelli (km 3,7). Superiamo la cappella e svoltiamo
a sinistra lasciando l´asfalto.
La sterrata scende ad un ponte poi sale con qualche tornante. Superiamo una cascina
e poi saliamo ad alcune altre (km 5,7).
La salita alterna ora tratti ripidi ad altri quasi pianeggianti. Una breve discesa
ci porta ad un colletto (km 7,3) dove trascuriamo le due strade a sinistra ed
andiamo diritti in salita.
Se il fondo è fangoso incontriamo qualche difficoltà a restare in
sella e raggiungiamo un bivio (km 7,6) dove saliamo a sinistra.
Superiamo una ripida rampa proseguendo poi più facilmente nel castagneto.
Arriviamo ad incrociare una larga sterrata (km 8,45).
Svoltiamo a destra, scendiamo a superare una depressione e continuiamo in salita
attraversando zone coltivate. Al termine della salita scendiamo all´asfalto (km
10,9).
Svoltiamo a sinistra e seguiamo la strada asfaltata che porta a Battifollo (km
12,4 alla Chiesa).

Ascent from Ceva to Battifollo

Description.
We depart from the center of Ceva (traffic light at the bridge for the station)
and follow the road in direction Mondovì. We get over the double rotatory
turning to the left in the road for Viola.
To the end of the ascent we turn to the left in the road for Battifollo (km
1,3).
We continue in plain up to the viaduct on the highway where we turn to the left
for Mazzitelli. The road skirts the highway to cross it in a underpass.
It begins the ascent that leads to Mazzitelli (km 3,7). We get over the chapel
and we turn to the left leaving the asphalt.
The dirt road goes down to a bridge then climbs with some hairpin bends. We
get over a farmhouse and climb to some others (km 5,7).
The ascent alternates now steep stretches to others almost level. A brief descent
leads us to a saddleback (km 7,3) where disregard the two roads to the left
and we go straight on ascent.
If the ground is muddy we meet some difficulties to stay in saddle and we reach
a fork (km 7,6) where climb to the left.
We get over a steep ramp pursuing then more easily in the chestnut wood. We
arrive to cross a wide dirt road (km 8,45).
We turn to the right, we go down to overcome a depression and we continue in
ascent crossing cultivated zones. At the end of the ascent we go down to the
asphalt (km 10,9).
We turn to the left and we follow the tarmac road that leads to Battifollo (km
12,4 the Church).
