Dal cartello segnaletico del lago seguiamo sulla strada verso ovest. Con qualche
saliscendi di modesto dislivello la strada attraversa le pendici del mont Chenaillet
poi scende con due tornanti ai piedi del valico (km 3,8).
Affrontiamo la breve salita che termina al Col Gondran (km 4; innominato sulle
carte).
A sinistra la strada sale al forte Gondran (a circa 2 km); la lasciamo e scendiamo
su una strada un po' dissestata.
La nostra strada raggiunge un punto molto vicino a quella che sale ai forti.
Svoltiamo a sinistra ed entriamo in questa strada (km 4,8).
La seguiamo ora costantemente in discesa. Ad un bivio (km 6,2) andiamo a sinistra.
La strada si destreggia fra le piste da sci, raggiunge la sponda sinistra della
valle e scende a tornanti nel bosco.
Al termine della discesa incontriamo un bivio (km 9,2). Andiamo a destra salendo
alla piscina e ad un piazzale che attraversiamo. Prendiamo la stradina sterrata
che sale parallela alla RN.
Saliamo costeggiando la recinzione di un campo da golf, ormai siamo a Montgenevre
(km 10,2). Dislivello: 500 m in discesa. Ciclabilità: 99% Asfalto: % Osservazioni: in verità si tratta di un itinerario di collegamento
tra i forti del Monginevro ed il Lago. Percorribile anche in senso contrario
con una salita ripida.
Descent from the lake of the Seven Colors to Montgenevre

From the descriptive poster of the lake we follow on the road toward west. With
some up-and-down of modest gradient the road crosses the slopes of the mont
Chenaillet then it goes down with two hairping curves at the foot of the Pass (km 3,8).
We face the short ascent that ends to the Pass Gondran (km 4; unnamed on the
maps).
To the left the road climbs to the Fortress Gondran (to around 2 kms); we leave
it and we go down on a road some rough.
Our road reaches a point next to that that climbs to the Fortress. we turn to
the left and we enter this road (km 4,8).
We follow it constantly in descent. To a fork (km 6,2) we go to the left. The
road manages its among the ski track, it reaches the left bank of the valley
and it goes down by hairping curves in the wood.
At the end of the descent we meet a fork (km 9,2). We go to the right climbing
to the swimming pool and to a square that we cross. We take the narrow dirt
road that parallel climbs to the RN.
Climb skirting along the enclosure of a golf field, by now we are to Montgenevre
(km 10,2). Gradient: 500 ms in descent. On saddle: 99% Tarmac: 0% Observations: in truth it's an itinerary of connection among the Fortress
of the Monginevro (Gondran, Janus, Infernette) and the Lake. Practicable also
in contrary sense with a steep ascent.
