Dal Col Basset prendiamo la strada che scende verso nord est e taglia le pendici
del monte Triplex. La strada raggiunge il cartello che indica il Col Bourget
e, poco dopo, raggiunge il valico (km 3,5).
Cambiamo versante e continuiamo in discesa. La strada poi sale e raggiunge un
tornante che sovrasta il Colle Costa Piana. Scendiamo e raggiungiamo l'ampia
sella prativa (km 6,2).
La strada sale adesso con diagonali e tornanti e raggiunge quasi la vetta del
monte Genevris. Raggiunto il punto più alto (km 8,8) scendiamo con qualche
tornante al colle Blegier (km 10,6).
La strada costeggia il versante meridionale del monte Blegier e sale al colle
Lauson (km 13,4).
Cambiamo di nuovo versante. Superiamo l´incrocio per il monte Gran Costa e saliamo all´incrocio con la GTA (itinerario 14).
Con percorso quasi pianeggiante raggiungiamo la strada per la casa cantoniera
e proseguiamo verso la Testa dell'Assietta, ben riconoscibile per il monumento
sulla vetta.
Passiamo sotto al monte ed iniziamo una discesa con qualche tornante che ci
porta al Colle dell'Assietta (km 17,8). Dislivello: circa 450 m in salita e un po' meno in discesa. Ciclabilità: 100% Asfalto: 0% Osservazioni: molto traffico motorizzato.
Crossing from Basset Pass to the Pass of the Assietta

From Basset Pass we take the road that goes down toward north-east and it cuts
the slopes of mount Triplex. The road reaches the poster that points out Bourget
Pass and, shortly after, it reaches the pass (km 3,5).
We change slope and continue in descent. The road then climbs and it reaches
a hairping curve that overhangs the Costa Plain Pass. We go down and we reach the ample
meadow saddle (km 6,2).
The road climbs now with diagonals and hairping curves and it almost reaches the peak
of mount Genevris. Reached the tallest point (km 8,8) we go down with some hairping curves
to Blegier Pass (km 10,6).
The road skirts along the southern slope of mount Blegier and climbs to the
Lauson Pass (km 13,4).
We change again slope. We get over the intersection for mount Gran Costa and
climb to the intersection with the GTA (itinerary 14).
With almost level run we reach the road for the roadman's house and we continue
toward the Head of the Assietta, well recognizable because the monument on the
peak.
We pass under the mountain and we begin a descent with some hairping curves that leads
to the Hill of the Assietta (km 17,8). Gradient: around 450 ms in ascent and some less in descent. Rideable: 100% Tarmac: 0% Observations: a lot of motorized traffic.
