A Ponte Marmora abbandoniamo la strada della val Maira per svoltare a destra e
salire la stretta valle laterale per Canosio, Preit e Vernetti.
La salita porta ad un bivio (km 3,9) dove svoltiamo a destra.
Saliamo sempre su asfalto superando qualche tratto ripido. Superiamo le case di
Preit e raggiungiamo il parcheggio presso Garange Selvest (km 10,2).
La salita prosegue con tornanti che ci fanno superare la
testata della valle. Un ripido traverso a sinistra termina al Colle del Preit
(km 14,3).
Qui termina l´asfalto. Prendiamo la strada che sale a destra, abbastanza ripida
inizialmente.
Un tratto in falsopiano raggiunge un bivio (km 17,5). Svoltiamo a destra e saliamo
per un breve tratto. Una breve discesa ci porta al rifugio, invisibile fino all'ultimo
(km 18,2). Dislivello: 1470 m Ciclabilità: 100% Osservazioni: Asfalto: 33%

At Bridge Marmora we leave the road of the val Maira to turn to the left and to
climb the narrow valley for Canosio, Preit and Vernetti.
The ascent leads to a fork (km 3,9) where we turn to the right.
Climb always on tarmac overcoming some steep stretches. We get over the houses of
Preit and we reach the parking lot of Grange Selvest (km 10,2).
The ascent continues not too much steep up to the hairping curves that overcome
the heading of the valley. To the left a steep beam finishes to the Pass of the
Preit (km 14,3).
Here it finishes the tarmac. We take the road that climbs to the right, enough
steep initially.
An almost level stretch reaches a fork (km 17,5). We turn to the right and climb
a short slope. A short descent leads us to the shelter, invisible up to the last
one (km 18,2). Gradient: 1470 m Cycle: 100% Observations: Tarmac: 33%
