Dal valico andiamo in direzione del rifugio. Dopo pochi metri prendiamo la strada
sulla sinistra che, poco dopo si congiunge con una strada più marcata proveniente
dal rifugio. Passiamo di fronte al rifugetto ANA e seguiamo la strada che costeggia
uno skilift.
In corrispondenza con la partenza degli impianti la strada volge a sinistra e
scende con alcuni tornanti. Arriviamo ad un valico (gias con bestiame; km 2,2)
dove svoltiamo a sinistra, abbandonando la strada che prosegue verso Prato Nevoso
e superiamo un paio di metri di salita.
Scendiamo fino al fondo della valle dove superiamo il ruscello (km 3). La strada
prosegue pianeggiante e poi in salita uscendo su una pista da sci nei pressi di
un bar.
Proseguiamo in discesa a destra seguendo la sterrata che perde quota con qualche
tornante. Incrociamo una pista da sci che seguiamo a destra raggiungendo il vicino
piazzale all´inizio dei palazzoni di Artesina (km 5,5). Dislivello: 520 m in discesa. Ciclabilità: 100% Asfalto: - Osservazioni: Valida soluzione anche per scendere dalla Balma a Prato Nevoso
seguendo la sterrata a destra al valico con bestiame. Si arriva al ristorante
del Rio in circa 1300 m.
Descent from Colla Balma to Artesina
Updating: 9/2004 Description.
From the pass we go direction the shelter. After few meters we take the road
on the left that, shortly after it links with a more evident road coming from
the shelter. We pass in front of the little shelter ANA and we follow the road
that skirts a skilift.
In correspondence with the departure of the skilifts the road turns to the left
and goes down with some hairpin bends. We arrive to a pass (gias with livestock;
km 2,2) where we turn to the left, leaving the road that continues toward Prato
Nevoso and get over a pair of meters ascent.
We go down up to the ground of the valley where get over the brook (km 3). The
road continues level and then in ascent going out on a ski run near a cafe.
We continue to the right in descent following the dirt road that loses height
with some hairpin bends. We cross a ski run that we follow to the right reaching
the near square to the beginning of the condominiums of Artesina (km 5,5). Gradient: 520 ms in descent. Rideable: 100% Tarmac: - Observations: Valid solution also to go down from the Balma to Prato
Nevoso following to the right the dirt road to the pass with livestock. You
arrive to the restaurant of the Rio in around 1300 ms.
