Da Ghertele seguiamo la SS 349 in discesa finchè troviamo a sinistra una strada sterrata (km 4,2; indicazioni).
Svoltiamo ed iniziamo a salire sulla stretta strada, aperta al traffico. Guadagniamo quota con qualche tornante e proseguiamo senza incertezze fino al quadrivio dove iniziano i divieti di circolazione (km 11,7; Bivio Galmarara).
Svoltiamo a sinistra e seguiamo la comoda sterrata che passa al di sopra della Malga Galmarara.
Saliamo con parecchi tornanti e raggiungiamo la massima quota in corrispondenza di una spalla (km 14,8) con alcune lapidi.
In discesa la strada passa al piede di pareti verticali e raggiunge il punto più basso (km 15,7).
In lieve salita raggiungiamo l'incrocio chiamato I Monumenti (km 17,7).
Svoltiamo a sinistra e saliamo con qualche tornante. Passiamo nei pressi di una fonte e raggiungiamo la Bocchetta di Portule (km 19,6).

From Ghertele we follow the SS 349 in descent as far as we find to the left an unmetalled road (km 4,2; indications).
We turn and we begin to climb on the hold road, open to the traffic. We gain altitude with some hairping bends and we continue without uncertainties up to the crossroads where they begin the prohibitions of circulation (km 11,7; Fork Galmarara).
We turn to the left and we follow the comfortable unsurfaced road that passes above the Malga Galmarara.
We climb with quite a lot hairping bend and we reach the maximum altitude in correspondence of a shoulder (km 14,8) with some headstones.
In descent the road passes to the foot of vertical walls and reaches the lowest point (km 15,7).
In light slope we reach the intersection called The Monuments (km 17,7).
We turn to the left and we climb with some hairping bends. We pass near a source and we reach the Bocchetta di Portule (km 19,6).
To the left the great cavern that entertained first the Italian artillery and then the Austrian cableway.. Gradient: 1020 ms Cycle: 100% Asphalt: 21% Observations:
